Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Artist's self-portraits: Leonardo da Vinci; Annibal Caracci; Ludovico Caracci; Domenichino; Rubens; Rembrandt; Rembrandt (in later life); and Hogarth by Charles Townley was sold in the British Mezzotints & Printed Hankerchiefs, Part II, from the collection of the Honourable Christopher Lennox-Boyd auction at Christies in London in February 2009. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 812.50 (€ 916.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Townley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British The Startled Stallion in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 28,600.00 (€ 19,471.68).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Artist's self-portraits: Leonardo da Vinci; Annibal Caracci; Ludovico Caracci; Domenichino; Rubens; Rembrandt; Rembrandt (in later life); and Hogarth von Charles Townley wurde im Februar 2009 in der Auktion British Mezzotints & Printed Hankerchiefs, Part II, from the collection of the Honourable Christopher Lennox-Boyd bei Christies in London versteigert.
