Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In The Desert by Charles-Théodore Frère was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 86,994.62). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Théodore Frère - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grande caravane de La Mecque, which sold at auction in December 2018 for EUR 195,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit In The Desert von Charles-Théodore Frère im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 86.994,62) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles-Théodore Frère mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grande caravane de La Mecque beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für EUR 195.000,00 versteigert wurde.
