In the Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures auction, the work The gold earring sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Sillem Lidderdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young girl carrying partridges in December 2001 with an auction result of GBP 24,675.00 (€ 40,315.53).
