In August last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Adobe and starry night by Charles Rollo Peters. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,433.68), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Rollo Peters have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moon over a pool in August last year with an auction result of USD 40,695.00 (€ 40,432.19).

Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Adobe and starry night von Charles Rollo Peters zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.433,68) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Rollo Peters auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moon over a pool im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.695,00 (€ 40.432,19).
