Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work A Harbour Scene With Fishermen by Charles Rodius. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,532.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Rodius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View of Sydney, New South Wales in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,433.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Harbour Scene With Fishermen von Charles Rodius zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.532,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Rodius auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View of Sydney, New South Wales im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.433,25).
