Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Sailing on the lake, in a mountainous landscape by Charles Nicholls Woolnoth for GBP 587.50 (€ 765.47). This price was achieved in the auction At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Nicholls Woolnoth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Luss Road, near Loch Lomond, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,094.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sailing on the lake, in a mountainous landscape von Charles Nicholls Woolnoth für GBP 587,50 (€ 765,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Nicholls Woolnoth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit On the Luss Road, near Loch Lomond beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 1.434,00 (€ 2.094,49) versteigert wurde.
