In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work Classical beauty by Charles La Fontaine. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,829.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Other works by Charles La Fontaine have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2019 the work A Classical Beauty was auctioned for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,085.16).
