Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work The bustling Thames at dusk by Charles John de Lacy for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,314.73). This price was achieved in the auction MARITIME PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Charles John de Lacy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2018 by the work The Alice De Lacy Off Gravesend at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,752.88).
