In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, British and Impressionist Art, which included the work The General And His Band by Charles Hunt. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,835.90), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Retribution in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,335.68).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The General And His Band von Charles Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.835,90) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Hunt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Retribution im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.335,68).
