Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Court Martial by Charles Hunt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,077.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Hunt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Retribution, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,335.68).

Die Arbeit The Court Martial von Charles Hunt kam im Januar 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.077,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Hunt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Retribution beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.335,68) versteigert wurde.
