Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Sunny Hillside by Charles Harold Davis. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,678.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Harold Davis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Clearing, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 44,650.00 (€ 51,357.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunny Hillside von Charles Harold Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.678,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Harold Davis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Clearing beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 44.650,00 (€ 51.357,26) versteigert wurde.
