Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work On the scent by Charles Gatehouse. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,056.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Charles Gatehouse have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2001 the work A Wire Haired Jack Russell Terrier was auctioned for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,318.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the scent von Charles Gatehouse zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.056,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Charles Gatehouse konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2001 die Arbeit A Wire Haired Jack Russell Terrier für GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.318,24) versteigert.
