In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science & Natural History, which included the work View in the Island of Gozo by Charles Frederick de Brocktorff. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,531.74), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Frederick de Brocktorff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Camelopard - A Present From The Pacha Of Egypt To The King - At Malta On Its Way To England, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,745.06).
