Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A pasture and trees by Charles Mielatz was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 389.29). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Mielatz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York City: Six Plates, which sold at auction in August 2005 for USD 1,680.00 (€ 1,362.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A pasture and trees von Charles Mielatz im August 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 480,00 (€ 389,29) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Mielatz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit New York City: Six Plates beobachtet, die im August 2005 für USD 1.680,00 (€ 1.362,53) versteigert wurde.
