Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Columbia racing; Columbia vs. Shamrock; A New York Yacht Club members trial race prior to 1898 by Charles E. Bolles for USD 1,195.00 (€ 960.53). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles E. Bolles - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hattie Palmer towing Colonia and Defender, which sold at auction in July 2002 for USD 2,151.00 (€ 2,195.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Columbia racing; Columbia vs. Shamrock; A New York Yacht Club members trial race prior to 1898 von Charles E. Bolles für USD 1.195,00 (€ 960,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles E. Bolles mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hattie Palmer towing Colonia and Defender beobachtet, die im Juli 2002 für USD 2.151,00 (€ 2.195,79) versteigert wurde.
