Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work A wooded river landscape at sunset by Charles Brooke Branwhite. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 785.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Brooke Branwhite - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An old lock, winter, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,881.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded river landscape at sunset von Charles Brooke Branwhite zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 785,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Brooke Branwhite mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An old lock, winter beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.881,22) versteigert wurde.
