Auction result misses estimated price range

In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work A naval encampment overlooking an anchorage in the Indian Ocean by Charles-Alexander Lesueur for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,655.38). This price was achieved in the auction Exploration and Travel with the Polar Sale Including The Amundsen Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Alexander Lesueur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Plan de la Ville de Sydney (Capitale des Colonies Anglaises aux Terres Australes) levé par Mr. Lesueur ...assujetti aux relèvements de Mr. Boullanger, [?Paris: November 1802, engraved plan with key (some very light spotting), 35 x 49cm.|AID924286], which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,691.37).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im September 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A naval encampment overlooking an anchorage in the Indian Ocean von Charles-Alexander Lesueur für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.655,38) erwerben.
