In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Self-Portrait I, March by Chantal Joffe. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 163,800.00 (€ 19,804.61), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chantal Joffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Mother and Child) in September last year with an auction result of USD 90,720.00 (€ 92,732.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait I, March von Chantal Joffe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 163.800,00 (€ 19.804,61) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chantal Joffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Mother and Child) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 90.720,00 (€ 92.732,29).
