Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A youth addressing a man, and an old man with a child (recto); A landscape with a city in the background (verso) by Cesare Gennari was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction at Christies in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,770.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cesare Gennari - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Sibyl, which sold at auction in October 2011 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,252.92).

Die Arbeit A youth addressing a man, and an old man with a child (recto); A landscape with a city in the background (verso) von Cesare Gennari wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.770,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cesare Gennari mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Sibyl beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.252,92) versteigert wurde.
