Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A distraction from chores by Carlo Wostry was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in March 2009. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,617.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Wostry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drei Marokkanerinnen. in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 39,600.00 (€ 24,416.15).

Die Arbeit A distraction from chores von Carlo Wostry wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.617,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Wostry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Drei Marokkanerinnen. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 39.600,00 (€ 24.416,15).
