In January 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Drawings including Works on Paper, which included the work A seated man looking up by Carlo Donelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,900.00 (€ 22,255.33), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Donelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Adorazione Del Bambino Con San Luca, which sold at auction in November 2006 for EUR 47,120.00.
