In March 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Rockport Harbor by Carl William Peters. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90), 32% above the upper estimate. With this result, Rockport Harbor is even the most expensive work of art by Carl William Peters that we have observed at auctions so far.
