In the European Art Part I auction, the work Der Hexenmeister sold for USD 1,230,000.00 (€ 1,056,065.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00. This high result makes Der Hexenmeister the most expensive artwork by Carl Spitzweg that we have observed at auctions so far.
