Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in New York held the auction The Aesthetic Interior: Reaturing Nineteenth Century Art and, which included the work Gypsy camp by Carl Goebel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 587.50 (€ 668.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carl Goebel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Homme debout avec sa canne; Homme assis lisant; et Homme assis fumant le cigare in October 2010 with an auction result of EUR 5,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Aesthetic Interior: Reaturing Nineteenth Century Art and durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gypsy camp von Carl Goebel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 587,50 (€ 668,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Goebel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Homme debout avec sa canne; Homme assis lisant; et Homme assis fumant le cigare im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.000,00.
