A top price for Frederick Marryat - as previously expected
The work Attack on Rangoon, 1824 by Frederick Marryat was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,482.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Attack on Rangoon, 1824 is the most expensive artwork by Frederick Marryat that we have observed at auctions so far.
