A top price for Cao Kun - as previously expected
The work Calligraphy Couplet by Cao Kun was sold in the Memories of The Past - Important Collection from Mr. Wang Boqun and The Republic Period auction at POLY in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 177,000.00 (€ 20,829.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Calligraphy Couplet is the most expensive artwork by Cao Kun that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet von Cao Kun wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Memories of The Past - Important Collection from Mr. Wang Boqun and The Republic Period bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 177.000,00 (€ 20.829,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Calligraphy Couplet das teuerste Kunstwerk von Cao Kun, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
