Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young lady, nearly full face in black dress with frilled white collar, her dark hair dressed by Camille Cornélie Isbert was sold in the Objects of Vertu and Portrait Miniatures auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 345.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camille Cornélie Isbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young girl called Marie Dominique Amélie Madeleine Maza (1868-1949), in brown dress and white lace collar, a blue bow in her long blond hair in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,500.65).
