In October 2014 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Plum Blossoms And Granes by Cai Xian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 141,600.00 (€ 14,578.13), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cai Xian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monkeys and Horses, which sold at auction in November 2016 for HKD 472,000.00 (€ 57,516.35).

Im Oktober 2014 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plum Blossoms And Granes von Cai Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 141.600,00 (€ 14.578,13) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cai Xian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monkeys and Horses beobachtet, die im November 2016 für HKD 472.000,00 (€ 57.516,35) versteigert wurde.
