Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Shepherds Watering Their Animals By A Ruined Bridge, A Horse And Cart Seen Beyond by Claude Michel Hamon Duplessis for GBP 360.00 (€ 534.61). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Michel Hamon Duplessis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Italianate landscape with a caravan of cattle, sheep, a camel and travellers, near a ruin in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 10,625.00.
