A top price for Bunrô - as previously expected
The work A half length portrait of a falconer and a young woman, each holding a falcon, signed Bunro ga and published by Ezakiya Kichibei by Bunrô was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2013. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,804.27), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A half length portrait of a falconer and a young woman, each holding a falcon, signed Bunro ga and published by Ezakiya Kichibei is the most expensive artwork by Bunrô that we have observed at auctions so far.
