Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bui Xuan Phai could be acquired at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online auction, this work without title changed hands for HKD 31,875.00 (€ 3,878.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bui Xuan Phai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Houses in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 171,775.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bui Xuan Phai konnte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 31.875,00 (€ 3.878,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bui Xuan Phai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Houses im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.625.000,00 (€ 171.775,05).
