the complete set of six engravings including title, 1594, fine impressions, published by Asiwerus van Londerseel, with narrow margins, apparently in good condition, hinged at the sheet corners; and another of two children attacked by lions by the same hand, dated 1594, the plate numbered '7', possibly from Fighting Chimeras and Scenes to Aesop's Fables

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Genii with animals (Hollstein 268-273) by Nicolaes de Bruyn was sold in the The Collection of Arthur & Charlotte Vershbow Part Three: The Baroque and Rococo Periods auction at Christies in New York in June 2013. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,441.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolaes de Bruyn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ländliches Fest, which sold at auction in October 2010 for EUR 3,904.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Genii with animals (Hollstein 268-273) von Nicolaes de Bruyn wurde im Juni 2013 in der Auktion The Collection of Arthur & Charlotte Vershbow Part Three: The Baroque and Rococo Periods bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.441,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolaes de Bruyn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ländliches Fest beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für EUR 3.904,00 versteigert wurde.
