Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bruce Cohen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Untitled, Interior with Powdered Blue Bearded Iris, 1993 sold for USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,168.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bruce Cohen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled, 1979 sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of USD 21,562.50 (€ 17,923.94).
