Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Colour Study Following Paean, No. 2 by Bridget Riley was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 31,200.00 (€ 46,240.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bridget Riley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Diagonal Curve) in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 4,338,500.00 (€ 5,207,615.75).

Die Arbeit Colour Study Following Paean, No. 2 von Bridget Riley wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 31.200,00 (€ 46.240,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bridget Riley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Diagonal Curve) im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.338.500,00 (€ 5.207.615,75).
