Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lust by Bob Carlos Clarke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,519.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bob Carlos Clarke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Vanessa And Vicky Kissing', 2002, which sold at auction in February 2017 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,092.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lust von Bob Carlos Clarke im Februar 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.519,39) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Bob Carlos Clarke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Vanessa And Vicky Kissing', 2002 beobachtet, die im Februar 2017 für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.092,60) versteigert wurde.
