Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bimal Dasgupta achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Composition sold for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,679.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bimal Dasgupta; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bimal Dasgupta erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Composition für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.679,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bimal Dasgupta; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.180,58).
