Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jazz by Bill Culbert was sold in the Modern British Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,049.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Culbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Space / Colour, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,509.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Jazz von Bill Culbert wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.049,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Bill Culbert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Space / Colour beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.509,58) versteigert wurde.
