Despite a disappointment, a good price for Bill Beckley
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Deirdre'S Lip by Bill Beckley for USD 4,375.00 (€ 4,011.92). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Deirdre'S Lip is the most expensive artwork by Bill Beckley that we have observed at auction so far.
