Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grandmother cat, knitting by Betty Swanwick was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 767.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Betty Swanwick achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flight of the Doves in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,992.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grandmother cat, knitting von Betty Swanwick kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 767,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Betty Swanwick erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flight of the Doves im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.992,23).
