Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor (1459-1519), half-length, in a red mantle, wearing the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, holding a letter, against a damask curtain, a mountainous landscape beyond by Bernhard Strigel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 154,511.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Bernhard Strigel have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2018 the work A Portrait Of Johannes Cuspinian, With His Second Wife Agnes, And His Sons From His First Marriage Sebastian Felix And Nicolaus Christostomus was auctioned for GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).

Im Juli 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor (1459-1519), half-length, in a red mantle, wearing the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, holding a letter, against a damask curtain, a mountainous landscape beyond von Bernhard Strigel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 122.500,00 (€ 154.511,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
