Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Mattathias Slaying The Officer Of King Antiochus On The Altar At Modin by Bernardo Cavallino for USD 145,000.00 (€ 97,702.31). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bernardo Cavallino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Cecilia in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 416,750.00 (€ 464,296.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mattathias Slaying The Officer Of King Antiochus On The Altar At Modin von Bernardo Cavallino für USD 145.000,00 (€ 97.702,31) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 180.000,00 – 220.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernardo Cavallino auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Cecilia im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 416.750,00 (€ 464.296,46).
