Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A hazy morning on the Welsh Hills by Benjamin Williams Leader was sold in the British Country Life auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 956.25 (€ 1,122.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Williams Leader achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kempsey Church on the River Severn in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 215,180.46).
