Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benjamin Williams Leader could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and European Art auction, the work Cornish Cliffs, Newquay changed hands for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,213.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Williams Leader achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kempsey Church on the River Severn in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 215,180.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Benjamin Williams Leader konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and European Art wechselte die Arbeit Cornish Cliffs, Newquay für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.213,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Williams Leader erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kempsey Church on the River Severn im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 215.180,46).
