In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Moored sailing vessels near the Hoofdtoren, Hoorn by Bernardus Viegers. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,500.00 17% above the upper estimate. Other works by Bernardus Viegers have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 6,962.35) in July 2005 for the work The flower seller.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.500,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
