Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled Figure by Ben Osawe was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,400.88). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ben Osawe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nigerianman With Hat, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,655.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled Figure von Ben Osawe wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.400,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ben Osawe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nigerianman With Hat beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.655,13) versteigert wurde.
