Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nov 59 (landscape with monolith) by Ben Nicholson was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 144,683.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nov 59 (landscape with monolith) von Ben Nicholson wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 126.000,00 (€ 144.683,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit April 57 (Arbia 2) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.749.000,00 (€ 4.423.451,41).
