Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work July 16 - 54 (still life in shadow) by Ben Nicholson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 60,480.00 (€ 69,447.84), 21% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit July 16 - 54 (still life in shadow) von Ben Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 69.447,84) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit April 57 (Arbia 2) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.749.000,00 (€ 4.423.451,41).
