Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bass Otis could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Portrait of William Musser changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 607.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bass Otis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Washington and Family at Mt. Vernon in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,382.69).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bass Otis erzielen.
