The work Tabacum latifolium; Ricinus maior by Basilius Besler was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in March 2010. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,192.90), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basilius Besler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,386.55).

Die Arbeit Tabacum latifolium; Ricinus maior von Basilius Besler wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.192,90) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basilius Besler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.386,55).
