Auction result misses estimated price range
In June last year a collector was able to acquire the work A Silver Charger With Fowl And A Terracotta Vase With Various Flowers On A Table, With A Parrot And A Curtain, A Landscape Beyond by Bartolomeo Ligozzi for USD 18,900.00 (€ 18,053.30). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters: No Reserves at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Bartolomeo Ligozzi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2006 by the work Tulips, roses and carnations and a narcissus in a sculped urn on a stone ledge at GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,152.35).
